Department of Accessibility and Support for People with Disabilities (PRO / DDO)

Support in the didactic sphere

There are no special classes for people with disabilities at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. However, the Study Regulations applicable at the University (available here) contain provisions that meet the needs of students with disabilities, enabling individual organization of studies and:

  • changing the form of participation in classes,
  • changing the form and extending the time of completing the course/exam,
  • dean holidays,
  • sick leave.

Additionally, as part of the adaptation of classes, we provide:

  • teaching materials adaptation to the available form (in particular for the blind and visually impaired) taking into account the characteristics of science, meeting all applicable requirements of WCAG 2.1,
  • the possibility of using alternative forms of content recording: using a laptop with screening / magnifying software, a tablet, Braille devices, a voice recorder (inform the teacher in advance!),
  • the educational assistant support (link redirecting to the description), who can help in taking notes, contacts with teachers, or facilitating access to classes,
  • possibility of hiring a sign language interpreter,
  • foreign language courses.

Any changes are to be determined individually to the needs and possibilities of the student. We recommend contacting the teachers during the first classes or during consultations.

A consultant for students with disabilities, from Department of Accessibility and Support for People with Disabilities will also be happy to provide support and information.
