Department of Accessibility and Support for People with Disabilities (PRO / DDO)

For over a dozen of years, Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) has been implementing the idea of a university "without barriers", open and friendly to young people with disabilities. 

University of Technology of New Opportunities is the place for you.

We create a space where we make sure that you feel safe and carry out education program without any obstacles. For this purpose, we have taken care of a number of forms of support, including:

  • appropriate adaptation of the university infrastructure
  • support in recruiting for studies
  • suport in handling administrative matters
  • special scholarship and scholarship of the WUST Alumni Association
  • support in the didactic process
  • educational assistant support
  • additional foreign language courses using the face-to-face method (also remotely)
  • psychological consultations (also remotely)
  • equipment and software rental for people with sight, hearing and movement impairments
  • adaptation of teaching materials (specialization in the field of science)
  • portable FM sets, mobile induction loops, YourWay system
  • the activity of the Student Club SKOK, for the community of people with disabilities
  • establishment of a sports section for people with disabilities (at the Physical Education and Sport Section at WUST)
  • organization of training, integration trips, conferences (summer training and integration camp „Dżamp”, training trips organized by Student Club SKOK)
  • participation in events from the "Accessible Culture" („Dostępna Kultura”) series
  • support for disabled drivers: assistance in obtaining a category B driving license, assistance in adapting the car
  • active participation in the Council of Experts (Rada Ekspertów)
  • cooperation with organizations supporting educational and professional development
  • awareness-raising activities in cooperation with DDO and WUST students: including classes in the "WUST for a toddler" series, organization of the Open Days of Typhlolab, Letter Writing Night (Nocne Listowanie), Level the Campus (Zrównać Kampus).

Thanks to the implementation of a number of various forms of supporting the education of people with disabilities, WUST successfully applied for EU funds under the "Accessible University" competition, submitting a project entitled „University of Technology of New Opportunities”.
