Support in the organizational sphere
"Enabling people with disabilities to fully participate in education and research" is one of the basic task mentioned in the statute of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
To achieve this task we provide support in the organizational sphere as follows:
Simplified administration
For students with disabilities, several facilities related to the organization of the academic year and the implementation of courses have been developed:
- priority service dean’s offices,
- a disabled student has priority to the entries referred to in Study Regulations of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (course enrollment),
- registration at PE classes on preferential terms - before the start of enrollment for other students (more information at: web.usos.pwr.edu),
- enrollment for foreign language courses on preferential terms - before the start of enrollment for other students (more information at: web.usos.pwr.edu),
- placing at the beginning of the list when enrolling in elective courses at the faculty (having completed the first semester).
Adjusting the University's Infrastructure
Undoubtedly, an architectural barrier is one of the most visible obstacle for people with disabilities. The campus of the University is constantly changing - we revitalize older buildings and work actively on new projects. For this purpose, a coordinator for architectural accessibility has been appointed.
- The buildings of the University are adapted to the needs of people with mobility impairments. They are equipped with internal and external elevators, as well as the access ramps.
- In the dormitories, we provide adapted rooms and entire segments consisting of two rooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette for the convenience of the student and the tutor living together.
- We made also sure that the canteens on the campus were fully accessible. In addition to the YourWay navigation and the convenient communication between the counter and the tables, you can count on the kindness and help of the canteen staff.
