Dear Students,

Wrocław University of Science and Technology is an open and friendly university for all those who make the effort to obtain a degree, including persons with disabilities and special needs. However, if the University is to support persons with special needs effectively, the teachers need to know about their particular needs, e.g. concerning the form of teaching, teaching materials or examination. Therefore, I would like to ask you to inform your teachers about your needs. According to the current Study Regulations, you should give this information to your teachers within the first four weeks of classes, but I encourage you to do this as soon as possible. If you need support with this or with any other issues, please feel free to contact the staff of the Department of Accessibility and Support People with Disabilities (DDO).

All the students, including PhD students, of our University can obtain professional psychological help at The Centre for Psychological Counselling and Mediation. All of you can benefit from free and anonymous psychological support both inside and outside the University, and information about this is available on Department of Accessibility and Support People with Disabilities (DDO) website. Any situation that you perceive as difficult can be discussed with a psychologist - it's not worth waiting for a crisis. The easiest way to make an appointment for a consultation is via the application.

Several projects and activities supporting students with disabilities and special needs in the educational process are being conducted at the moment at the University. These include, provided, in accordance with Regulations of Studies, services for this group of students (e.g. educational assistants). There are Accessibility Leaders at every Faculty, at the Department of Foreign Languages and at the Department Physical Activity and Sports. Accessibility Leaders provide support in dealing with the problems of students and all those with special needs at the university. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and look out for the cards of the Accessibility Leaders from your Faculty.

Students with a disability certificate can receive a scholarship. More information about material assistance for people with disabilities.  People with serious health problems and disabilities can also apply for the Special Scholarship of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology Alumni Association (documents available in Polish only).
